Thanks! Since the Quebec team did not put any of there athletes in the event I get to go to Montreal now. They are allowed 2 athletes in the event but the throws were to high and they decided not to.

Got back from Montreal Yesterday. I'm going to take 3 weeks off the weights to rest my torn abdomen. Montreal was fun but my performance lack luster at best. Oh well thats how it goes sometimes. Just Cardio for the next 3 weeks getting ready to throw the Discus finally after a long and grueling indoor season. 1 mile jog 15 min on the Bike

Hahaha! Actually a combination of Cleans and Over Head shot throws plus core is not advancing like the rest of my body I need to do some serious training in this area after the pain resides.

So I have been looking to some big competitions this summer in the Discus 2 that I am aiming for the National Championships in Windsor Canada, and NACAC the North American Caribbean Athletic Series which would be my first chance to make the National team.
Standard is that I must throw 50.50 two times or once at the national championships. So me and my coach need to work out the details but it should go something like this
Workout for Day 1 Exercise Snatch 5 sets of 5 Bench 10 reps, 4 sets of 8 Squats 10 reps, 4 sets of 8 Lat PD Tricep Pushdowns Leg Curls Back Ext. Abs
Workout for Day 2 Exercise Power Clean - 5 sets of 5 Incline Bench - 10, 4 sets of 8 Front Squats - 4 sets of 8 Standing Press Bicep Curls Leg Extension Upright Row Abs
Preparation Time is a total of 3 months and 2 weeks so a total of 14 weeks. Working with weights 3 days a week alternating between workout one and two, light cardio on the days in between.
April Conditioning Phase - Biking or Running every second day - 8-10 rep range for weights - Light Work on Cleans, Snatch and core
May Strength Building - 30 meter sprints - 6-8 rep range for weights - If at all possible adding weight to cleans, snatches and core
June Power/Explosive - Sprints/Jumps - 5-6 rep range for weights - Adding once again if at all possible to the cleans, snatches, and core
Tapering last 2 weeks in July -Maintaining Gains Made - 8-10 rep range - Chiropractic work, Massage, Eating properly to recover- (although these things will be done throughout )
