Just wondering what the process is to become a ref? I would be interested once I get some more experience under my belt.

Hey Bearbait howz the legs feeling? I meant to touch base with you last week to see how much soreness you had from our session. To become a Ref you will need to write a Provincial Referee's Exam which is based upon the IPF rulebook. This can be downloaded from the following website: www.powerlifting-ipf.com/Just scroll down the left side and find the Technical Rules tab, click on it and download in PDF or Word the version you want (English I presume). Study up and contact me so we can have a rules clinic for yourself or whomever else is interested. Then we can put you in the chair and give you some experience. After that you can proceed to the National Level and then International if you so desire. Brock

Yes, the legs were tender for about 4 days. My legs are starting to get used to squats now and are recovering quicker. I found that my most comfortable hand position on the bar for squats is pretty close in, I thought that it would have been wide but it was bugging my shoulders too much going wide. Thanks for the info, I'll start reading up on it.

Are you going to start a training log here? It's a good idea to do so. It is good for the exchange of ideas and if you state a goal we can all support you from afar and push you on to attain it.

Ed If you are in town we are benching at Parkwest on Wed at 7pm.Went to Cuba for a week of rest so plan to lift heavy. If you are coming let me know as I have a shirt for you.P.S. just got a new shirt that I am just going to use for a 3rd attempt at the Nationals if I can get it to touch once and only once before the contest. We always go to eat after the workout and I think I have convinced Mellonhead to go to 300 lbs so bring a camera to film the meal.Start a log as I would be most interested in your bench routine.Harv

You should post Trevor eating on you tube it is quite the spectacle. I'll be in the night of the 24th but I have to go back the next day. In April I will be in Winnipeg more than I'm at home so I should be able to meet up with you guys. I will get a log started, my training so far has been just go to the gym and do whatever felt good that day. I have lots to learn. What kind of shirt did you get and do you have a separate closet for your bench shirts?

Hi Harv, I will be in Monday March 24 but don't change your schedule on my account. I have just been doing paused raw work for the last two weeks, I haven't had the shirt on since the last contest.

Ed,Monday will work, what time could you be there?Today Mellonhead did 2 singles with 565 and I back flipped 415 off the 3boards.I'll bring the shirt and you can do just a little fun stuff.Might go looking for an all you can eat chicken wing place after. The Big Mellon says he usually eats 3 pounds, but now that he is off the diet we might do 5 pound max limit test.We plan on wearing bench shirts to the restaurant.Harv

Ed Will workout Monday at 7 pm.I will bring the shirt so you can use it.We don't really do a lot as the nationals are around the corner.Mellon does to 2 heavy sets of 1 rep and I plan on doing 3 reps 3 board,2 reps 2 board and 1 rep 1 board and 1 regular single bench.Whole thing takes an hour and 20 minutes.I'll get Mellon to bring his camera so we will film it to review your form.We always lift more when someone shows up.Bring an appetite as mellon seems headed to the 275 class not the 242.Harv
