Monday at 5. Trevor will try to juggle his work schedule and Steve will come but has no control over his flight times.You can't park on Portage before 5:30 but the church behind the Irish pub on the corner lets us use their lot.Should be fun,Eddy bring your camera. Harv

Thanks Harv, I will see you guys there at 5. Apr.23-Week 9 of Coan/Phillipi 495x2 350-2x3 Shrugs-3x8-315 Wore my suit for this one, my goal weight for this week was 490 x1 but I managed to get 2 ugly ones up. The most I ever pulled was 501 in the last meet in Winnipeg hopefully I can improve on that at the next meet. When I pulled the suit on I ripped the left seam that I put in to tighten it up I guess I need some practice on my sewing skills. Squatted this morning 1/2 suit/belt bar x8[3 sets] 135x5[2 sets] 185x5 suit/belt 225x5 315x5 405x2[5sets] Want to increase it 10 lbs every week up to the week before Dauphin. Got to 5 sets of 2 reps with 435 before the Nationals,but didn't go.Will see what I do in Dauphin as most likely get a boost with wraps on. Nice to post on Ed's log See you Monday. Harvey

ED Thanks for the Metal Militia DVDs.Do you take a complete layoff after a training cycle.They grind you with their workout but recommend a lot of down time,seems like about 4 months off during the year.Have you tried this. Good video,I'll pass it along to Mellon because i know that he like to take complete breaks,at least 7 months of the year.Will you be making your regular pilgrimage to Park West soon? Harvey

I don't take any time off really I throw in some really light weeks once in a while and usually take at least 4 days off after a contest. I'll be in the City on the 10th, 11th and 12th of May let me know your schedule and we can meet up.

Poster is being made up to be put up around town here. We did promote the contest in the last Dauphin Herald, we put our names, numbers and email addresses in as well.

Ed If you are only squatting once a week,it would be a good idea to be squatting with straps up.You can't squat with just bottoms in a contest so when you are this close you are wasting workouts. Pick a good day for next bench workout and will see if Mellon fits in.If you let me know tonight I am working out on Wed with him. Are you going to keep posting your workouts.I am only posting my squats to make myself stick to a cycle up to the contest. PS my squats aren't low enough yet so have a bit of work to do. Harvey

Harv sorry I didn't get back to you sooner just came off of nights, any of those days works for me whichever works best for you guys. I'll go straps up in a couple of weeks just wanted to get some support on my hips which were a little tender.

Ed Trevor will get back to me on when he works next week.Got 4 heavy bench workouts to go before our trip to Dauphin. You can kiss the heavyweight bench record good bye as Mellon is up around 290 now.Took a run at 605 yesterday though still a ways to go.I sold him the shirt[$50] and will square up at the workout.Now I understand it takes 3 national refs to set a Canadian record.Any chance we will have 3?Not sure what it is for Manitoba records. Will let you know when I hear from the Big Mellon [at 290 we add big to nicknames] Harvey
