I'm not a member of MPA or MWA and dont know anyone in the milatary who can sign for me or even know if that is allowed. I mainly want to do olympic weightlifting and read who guys have equip on loan from MWA. Thanks to anyone who can help my name is Tyler Shiells.

We may have a solution, I am president of the Strength club (I also dabble in both olympic and powerlifting). Our club area is a mechanical room with an olympic/deadlift platform, two bench areas and a squat rack (chalk up to your heart's content). The Centre's weight room is well equipped with cardio eqpt also (some of the typical rules apply up there, but not a bad resource) . If you are interested in the strength club we may be able to find a sponsor for you. Some of the centre's information is on the links below. www.pspwinnipeg.ca/comrec/ApplicationForms-REVISED.docwww.pspwinnipeg.ca/comrec/MEMBERSHIPFEES.docwww.pspwinnipeg.ca/comrec.html

To:Rehband I am most definetly interested in the strength club. Do you need to have a sponsor to train in your mechanical room?If so I hope that you can find me a sponsor because as I said before I am desperete to find a club to do weightlifting. Due to work scheduale I cant join the club at the UofM. If you are the president of the club do you want me to contact you? Thanks again Tyler

Good Day Tyler, My apologies for not getting back to you earlier, It has been a hectic time at work. If you are really keen on learning olympic weightlifting (but, do not wish to travel to the university), I strongly recommend looking up the Dakota weightlifting club. Terry Hadlow was (and still is) an exceptional weightlifter who understands athletic development, he comes very highly recommended as a coach. Although I have some background in coaching, Terry's is quite extensive as he was an elite athlete in his day and is a remarkable master's lifter today (He was a silver medalist in the 78 commonwealth games, but he is a little too humble to mention it). We do have a platform, some equipment, and flexible hours at 17 Wing, but I don't think that I can give the quality of coaching & support that you would receive from someone like Terry Hadlow. Cheers, Al
