At the national AGM it was decided that the Western Canadians would be hosted in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on August 16, 2008. It was also decided that lifters would require “previous experience” to participate. This means that it cannot be a lifters first contest.
On another note, it is now mandatory to advertised a contest a minimum of 6 weeks prior. This gives CCES enough time to arrange for doping control officers to be scheduled.

Thanks for the heads up Steve. I had read Mike's post on the CPU forum about that decision. Our next meet is slated for June 22/08 so I will notify Mike of this.
Bye the way congratulations on the total in a very tough weight class. Top three all with a 500+ Wilks is one helluva head to head contest.
Did you hear what injuries Darren Weatherbie had sustained? Also, what happened to Tom Nichol? I thought he was entered for Nationals and then I saw that he did not compete.
Pass on my congratulations to Annette for passing the National Referees test. That is great news. ;D

It will be at the 17th Wing but in the Multi purpose room (where the warm ups were for the Westerns last year). Posters etc. will be ready soon.

Ed If you are in town we are starting back this Thursday at 7.If you can make it we will be able to get the bulk discount at Perkins afterward.Over a couple beers I think I have convinced the "MELLON" that he should weight 300 lbs, because at this weight his head would look small compared to the rest of him.Have you been able to get a hold of Mr.Smook by chance. Hi Harv, I probably won't be in until May sometime but will let you know so we can take advantage of that discount. I have asked about Smook and he is still in the area but I haven't run into him yet.

YUP!
I already had a date and location picked as Rob's notice can atest to. We just needed to confirm this with the building managers etc. Now that is done we can start spreading the word.
