Hey you Mature Lifters any advice on meds or treatment modalities for good old arthritis? That is apparently the cause of some of my low back and knee pain. I take glucosimine flax and fish oil and ibuprofen daily it helps, any other suggestions???

Hey Bruce, I have been living with arthritis for the last 23 years. For the last 4 years; my doctor have prescribed ARTHROTEC*75 (Diclofenac sodium and Misoprostol). Let me tell you, it's been a great help over the last few years. Ask your doc about it. It works ;D

Thanks Bert I will give it a try. Given the success you are continuing to have with your lifting it is a good recomendation. And thank you Harv for reminding me of my own mortality. "Do not go gently into that good night" or some such Shakesperian thought. I had thoughts of other "end of the road" misadventures I could have but this revisiting the lifting scene still holds the most appeal dunno why but that is the way it is.

I am giving the Arthrotec a try,my doctor said to give it a week before I would see any marked improvement so middle of this week I will be there.Seems to have some pain relief initially but I am movin slow cause I had to get off the ibuprofen before I could try this stuff out.

So here it is my best aid for arthritis is Sierra Sil 5 tabs daily in the AM empty stomach lots of water. I also take 4000 IU of fish oil daily for good cholesterol which may aid the inflammation too. I have twice stopped the Sierra Sil and both times my joints got markedly worse. So I will have to budget for this stuff as I sail off into the sunset
