I generally wear a loose belt for deads too. Do you usually wear squat shoes? Also, where do you train? And what did you do at the Wildewood Club? haha

And what did you do at the Wildewood Club? haha Usually something with a heel, I have a pair of old Do Wins and some AdiPowers. I go to GoodLife. I went to Oakenwald, we would do intramurals there, I spent a lot of time there when I was younger.

Kody, how wide is your Hybrid Stance for your Deadlift? Are you using your squat stance which may be narrower than your regular Sumo stance? Just wondering what it means for your strength off the floor and how you are finding it contributing to your training.

Just wondering what it means for your strength off the floor and how you are finding it contributing to your training. Brock It's about the width of my squat stance, toes out more. Feet stay inside the rings, when I pull sumo they are outside the rings. I find I can engage the lockout pretty well when I break the lift into two parts, hence the pause at the knee. I gained weight pretty suddenly early this year and struggled to find a way to deadlift that worked. I think I figured it out now and should be able to pull without too much thoracic rounding.

We had a lifter here in Manitoba years ago that used to do the same thing. Squat stance and Modified Sumo stance and he was good for 300kg on both as a Junior! Keep at it if it works.

Brock Thanks, Brock. It will probably be late next year or 2017 when I squat 300. Not as sure about the pulling, but probably around the same timeline.
