Wow, my last post was June 10! I have been training hard but life in the summer is too busy for posting it seems. We were away every weekend in July, which was exhausting but lots of fun. All that weekend fun also means I have not seen the scale below 60kg in quite a while...
Rep PRs since last post:
Squat 190x7
Squat 200x4
Deadlift 175x20
Bench 125x2
Deadlift 245x6
Squat 200x5
Deadlift 260x3
Deadlift 275x2
And I hit 130 for my 5x10 squats!
General updates:
- We switched back to a 3 day/week 5/3/1 variation.
- Brickhouse does not yet have A/C so I die 3x/week
- My training maxes for Deadlift and Bench Press made it above my most recent actual maxes. I took a minor deload a while back on Squat because I adjusted my form so actual and training just matched for the first time this past cycle.
- My deadlift has become weak off the floor since I figured out how to do touch'n'go effectively so I made sure to dead stop accessories (incl. deficits & pause just off floor) and most working sets this time around, but I will be taking a deload as continuing to go up would put my training max at 300 and my 95% at 285 (My best single lift was 281 last November).
- I started having a bit of a nag in my left shoulder from leaning on it at work and it led me to the realization that my bench press is actually really weak in the shoulders. I can push a lot with the slingshot and generally don't have an issue with pausing (it tends to help my form) so I am doing lots of lightweight shoulder stuff as well as focusing on shoulders when doing accessories. Bench had been feeling strong but the past few weeks not so much. Will deload.
- Very happy with how my squats have been going! I feel much stronger but haven't went for that 225+ yet. My training max will be 230 for the next cycle so it will be heavy and tiring (95%x220) but I'm also excited to struggle through 135 for 5x10 in 3 weeks too haha
- Bought a new singlet through Titan Canada (arrived 1 business day after ordering) and my new belt finally arrived (4 months after ordering).
- Bought my new CPU card and dropped my form off for 17th wing. Planning on making the trip for my 2nd Westerns in December and since last year my goal was to qualify for Nationals and it is still a big enough total (just) I will plan to make the trip to Nationals. It is so close this year and seems like it would be a lot of fun to lift among people my size!
- I already have all my theoretical attempts picked for if I was to compete this weekend... Hopefully they will go up a little by the time Sept 26 rolls around Excited and nervous to lift in a competition again since it has been so long.
